Amendment 4 will make an additional homestead exemption for first time homebuyers equal to 50 percent of their home's value.

This exemption can be appreciated by Floridians who:

  • have not claimed homestead exemption in the last three years
  • young families who are purchasing a home for the first time
  • homebuyers who are in the market after struggling through the recession
