Daytona Bandshell Summer Schedule

The Daytona Bandshell opened on July 4th 1937 and is located at 70 Boardwalk. The bandshell summer concert series began May 15th and runs through Labor Day.

Most summer concerts are free of charge - just bring your chair or blanket to sit on. If you don't want to carry a chair they are available for rent for a nominal fee. Ample parking is available at the Ocean Walk garage.

The summer concert series has something for everyone - blues, jazz, country and rock are just a sampling of the different types of music played there. And to top off the evenings' musical entertainment there are fireworks every Saturday night from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The bandshell is also available for private events such as weddings,…

Sea Turtle nesting season runs from May 1 - October 31 in Volusia County

Sea Turtles Dig The Dark!

Sea Turtles

Very soon sea turtles will emerge from the surf at night and lay their eggs on Daytona Beach. The incubation period is approximately 2 month and the little hatchlings make their entrance to the world and crawl to the ocean! There are many obstacles for these tiny creatures such a sand holes, predators, trash and other items left on the beach by beach goers.

It is also unfortunate that beachfront lights from residential properties along "The World's Most Famous Beach"  keeps female sea turtles from nesting in addition to confusing the hatchlings that are trying to get to the water and instead head towards the roads and drain storms!
